Winner: Kategorie: “Visual Arts – Static” / Shannon Linde & Alexis Ronse (Kanada): “Romantic Taxonomy”
“Our idea was to insert idigenous animals back into the urban landscape using a decoupage / poster graffiti technique. This project works to incorporate these animals back into the urban environment, putting them in public areas where they might really have existed. We chose to carry out this public art project in a busy area of Montreal, one that is bustling with locals and tourists on a daily basis. Fabric cutouts of the city’s regional animals are subtly placed, with the hope of pervading the passerby’s consciousness, and challenging their preconceptions about the relationship between the city and nature.”
In der Kategorie “Visual Arts / Moving” gewann das Projekt “Cadavre Exquis – Group X” von Jacqueline Gothe und Elisa Lee (Australien). Eine “Honorable Mentions” erhielten die Filme von Peter Bergstedt “A day in the life of the Earth” (Dänemark) und Christian Lindqvist “Lightbulb” (Australien). Alexander Mouton “Epiglobis“, ein interaktives Net.Art-Projekt über Konsum, Wünsche und Globalisierung, wurde in der Kategorie “Web site / Interactive: Postgraduate studies” ausgezeichnet. Und in der Kategorie “beyond” erhielten folgende fünf Projekte die meisten Punkte: Der Flickr-Fake von Les Liens Invisibles “subvertr” (Italien), der Essay “Uptake of Situationism Considered Harmful” über Human Computer Interaction und Situationismus (USA), das Community-Konzept zHarmony (USA), die Erzählung “Madrassa-e-yusufiye” von Biju aus Indien, das Lern-Tool “The Quantumedia Virtual EQ” von Gregory O’Toole und das Blogprojekt “Passive Post” von Jamison McCorrison (USA). Und in der Kategorie “Communication Studies” gewann der slowenische Aufsatz von Dominik Maher “Ekološka ozaveščenost po kampanjsko” über die ökologischen Aufmerksamkeitstrategien in der Werbung.
