Das neue Projekt des Designers und Bloggers Sebastian Campion: “Urban Cursor“. “Urban Cursor is a GPS enabled object designed to facilitate social interaction and play in public space and consists of one oversized 3D computer cursor that was placed on a square in Figueres. Passers-by were encouraged to move the artwork, play with it, and use it as a bench. The cursor contained a GPS device that transmitted geographic coordinates to a Google Map on a website, thereby documenting the object’s movements in the real world, and making it possible for participants to see how they collectively helped move the object around.” Via

Blood on the Bürgersteig: Neue Lichtinstallation der spanischen Gruppe Luzinterruptus – “Urban Hemorrhage“. “We expected a day of heavy rain and we went out to look for puddles on the pavement. We chose a conflictive zone, the May the 2nd Plaza, in the past the scene of the famous and bloody execution of 1808 and in the present scenes of violence and repression are still being played out there against those that drink in the streets. We only had to dye the water red and put our lights in it to simulate the blood that flowed over the pavement, creating a most dramatic effect. Nicolas Lampert macht wunderbare Collagen von Fleischlandschaften. Seine “MeatScapes” beschäftigt sich mit den Fragen: “Where does the food we consume come from? How does an understanding or lack of understanding of the process of food production, particularly meat, impact our individual decisions in what we decide to consume? What are the larger implications of being connected/disconnected with our food source? Is consumerism a passive or participatory activity? Why are the people in the images disengaged, nonchalant by the massive piles of meat? What is the role of the monument? Are these images monuments to meat? What are the politics, power dynamics of eating animals?” Und zusammen mit Micaela O’Herlihy hat er dazu noch ein drei Meter großes Brathähnchen aus Polystyrol-Hartschaum gebaut. Via
