Der Protest an der Hamburger Hochschule für Bildene Künste wird lauter. (Hä? Um was geht’s?) Und das ist auch gut so! Für Art Online habe ich mit drei Aktivist/innen über ihre “Entlaufen”-Aktion gesprochen “Seit einer Woche kleben mysteriöse Plakate überall in Hamburg und rufen in Versalien: “ENTLAUFEN!!! Unser Kunststudent ist seit dem 17.7.07 nicht wieder nach Hause an die HfbK zurückgekehrt. Er trägt schwarz und hört auf 300 Namen. Wir vermissen ihn sehr!!! 500,- BELOHNUNG!” Das Interview zur Aktion gibt’s hier, die offizielle Boykott-Seite hier! Und vom 19. – 30. September läuft das Projekt „Trimester“: Die Studenten stellen den Hochschulraum für Diskussionen, Filme und Workshops zur Verfügung. Und mit einem erotischen Trailer werben sie gerade gegen den Bildungs-Sell-Out:
OH! – das Videomagazin gibt’s jetzt mit SHARE-Funktion, d.h. alle Filme lassen sich in Eure Blogs und Webseiten einbauen. Einfach auf den Share-Button klicken und Source-Code einbetten… Seit einigen Wochen funktioniert auch die Fullscreen-Funktion: Gemütlicher “Lean-Back”-Modus = voller Filmgenuß! Und dazu bloggen im News-Bereich täglich Kreative, Künstler und Chaoten über Festivals, neue Kurz- und Kunstfilme, Musikclips und andere Videoprojekte. Was gibt’s sonst noch? Wir basteln bereits fleißig an der nächsten Ausgabe und werden wieder zahlreiche Perlen präsentieren (Erwin Wurm, gelitin, AES+F und viele andere). Aber wer seine Videoarbeiten für OH!#2 einsenden möchte, kann & sollte dies unbedingt noch tun – wir sind ständig auf der Suche! Die nächste Ausgabe erscheint Anfang November! Übrigens arbeiten wir mit dem 9. backup.festival in Weimar (18.-21. Oktober 2007) zusammen – und werden dort eine Best-of-OH! zeigen und in OH!#2 ein Best-of-Backup. In diesem Sinne: Klick & OH!

Santiago Sierra, „The Anarchists“, Rom, Italien, 2006: Mit seinen radikalen Kunstaktionen löst der spanische Künstler Santiago Sierra seit Jahren Skandale aus. Er stört den musealen Raum oder inszeniert aktionsbezogene Performances mit angeheuerten Protagonisten. In seinem Werk „The Anarchists“ gab er acht Anarchisten 100 Euro, damit sie sich die Weihnachtsansprache des Papstes anhörten.

“Jesus Loves you Too (U2)”

Frans Smeets is a Dutch historian, philosopher and artist. “The sculpture “Jesus Loves you Too (U2)” depicts the Irish rockstar in a long white robe similar to those that Jesus is often depicted in, only this one is labeled with a Nike symbol. The look is topped off with Emporio Armani sunglasses. At Bono’s feet is an emaciated African infant whose eyes lie startlingly wide open. Its mouth is open as well, as if it is crying out, but the cry seems to fall on deaf ears, as Bono looks straight ahead and appears uninterested, even as he holds out his hands, palms facing upward.The sculpture seems to match recent criticism over Bono’s activism, particularly his DATA (Debt, AIDS, Trade Africa) organization and its Product Red campaign. There is a multitude of praise and criticism for the rock singer’s activism and everyone seems to have their own opinion. Local critic Liam Fay, writer for the Sunday Times, says about him, ” It’s rarely mentioned now that Bono concentrates on international emergencies but there was a time when he also believed he had the answer to Ireland’s domestic problems… But that answer has changed with comic frequency.” (*) Mehr zu Bono…

Oliver Whitehead “was born in England 1947. He studied Fine Art at Hornsey College of Art in London 1967-70. It was in this college that Whitehead was able to experience many forms of making art, from drawing to film. He came to Helsinki in 1970 on a British Council Scholarship. During part of this time Whitehead has worked in the Academy of Fine Arts, (Kuvataideakatemia) in Helsinki 1985-97, teaching drawing and painting, where he was asked to direct and build a media department, called the time and space department. He has held exhibitions in both Finland and abroad.
