Luzinterruptus und ihre neue Intervention: “Drinking water running through the streets”. “In Madrid, in less than 30 years, more than 50% of the public fountains in service have been lost, which now are seen to be dismantled, broken, without a tap to drink from or simply dry. To criticize the indifference of the administration in regards to a necessary public service, we carried out our action. We have spent more than 4 months collecting the glass containers of the multiple vitamin supplement Infatrini, prescribed for little Alicia, who is now 1 year old, and whose father Fernando has been saving them for us with all the patience in the world. In total they have donated more than 200 vials to us that we have thoroughly cleaned and used to create our individual and luminous streams of water. On a cold night at the end of January, we went out into the street and took control of 4 unused public fountains in the city center, bringing them back to life for a few hours. We wanted to say that water is necessary for life and that the fountains that are used for drinking and refreshing ourselves seem much more necessary and beautiful to us than those which are merely ornamental, which the citizens cannot normally get close if not for some football event of “national interest”.” Via: Mail

Nachdem ich vorletzte Woche Homers “Green” vorstellte – gibt es nun die passende Antwort von Igor: “Red”! “Original purpose of my color coding of urban objects lay in the fact that the focus on the details of the viewer to distract him from everyday life, to engage in a process of continuous search. But during the creation of this series, I got more and more across an object, even before I carefully painted in red. Doubting the wisdom of my accent gradually sense the action went on there, but I continued to do so instinctively.”

Benjamin Gaulon: “L.S.D / Sonic Graffiti”
Der französische Medienkünstler Benjamin Gaulon verwandelt das Licht der City-Light-Poster in Töne: “Research and recent innovations have led to an amazing increase of types and uses of visual displays and screens; indeed, in our predominantly visual culture, they are everywhere. A typical person carries at least one device with a screen, is presented with them in public places, uses them at work and in many leisure activities. They are so ingrained in our everyday acts and habits that we don’t even notice them anymore. L.S.D invites its users to engage in a new perception of their daily environment. L.S.D feeds on light via two LDR (light depending resistor) mounted on a suction cup, allowing the sensors to be mounted on any screen surface. An analogue synthesizer converts the light input to sound waves. This device can be used in many different configurations and feeds from any light sources. Paul Ketz: “Pfandring”
Pfandring für öffentliche Mülleimer von Paul Ketz. Entstanden im Rahmen eines Kooperationsprojektes mit der Kölner AWB. Der beste Kommentar dazu kommt von Publique: “Sicher, der Gedanke ist zunächst gut. Aber wäre es nicht noch besser, Menschen wären nicht dazu gezwungen, anderer Leute unachtsam weggeworfene Pfandflaschen aufzukleiben? Zurecht ging der Clip heute durch die Bloques, aber wir sollten nicht denken, dass ein solcher Pfandflaschenring die Würde der Menschen, die für ihren Lebensunterhalt Flaschen sammeln, auch nur ein Deut erhöht. Wir haben beim Wegstellen einfach ein besseres Gefühl.” Via/Via/Via
