Philipp Teister: “LOCK UP I/O”

“LOCK UP I/O“, die “Online Reality Voting Show”, die dem “Publikum, die Chance bietet verurteilte Straftäter ins Gefängnis zu wählen”, angeblich ein neues “Zielgruppenportal” in Zusammenarbeit mit den Deutschen Justizbehörden, ist das neue “Fake”-Projekt von Philipp Teister. Hier der offizielle Pressetext: “LOCK UP I/O” ist on Air! Die Votings laufen auf vollen Touren, denn 5 Kandidaten werden ab Dienstag, 2. August bei dem Online Reality Voting von “LOCK UP I/O” teilnehmen. Aber nur vier Teilnehmer werden nach Ablauf des Votings mit der Siegerprämie in die “LOCK UP I/O”-Historie eingehen. Auf einen der Teilnehmer wartet dannach die Ersatzhaftstrafe. Präsentiert wird die erste Webisode “LOCK UP I/O” als Voting-Highlight 2011/2012 für das Deutsche Internet.

“The Google Smile” – das neue Projekt des französischen Netzkünstlers Julien Levesque: Das Lächeln des Google-Smiley richtet sich nach dem aktuellen Google-Aktienindex (sichtbar nur von 15.30 bis 22 Uhr, Öffnungszeiten der NY-Börse). “Le sourire du smiley évolue en temps réel selon les données communiquées par l’action financière de Google. Composée d’une partie du logo du géant Google dont il ne reste ici plus que les deux “o” et de la courbe indiquant le niveau des actions de la société GOOGLE inc en temps réel, cet assemblage d’éléments distincts forment un émoticône vivant : “le Google Smile”.”

Ping! ist Pong mit dem Finger – und das neue Projekt von Niklas Roy: “In the decade where videogames were born, everything virtual looked like rectangular blocks. From today’s perspective, the representation of a tennis court in the earliest videogames is hard to distinguish from a soccer or a basketball field. ‘PING! – Augmented Pixel’ is a seventies style videogame, that adds a layer of digital information and oldschool aesthetics to a video signal: A classic rectangular video game ball moves across a video image. Whenever the ball hits something dark, it bounces off. The game itself has no rules and no goal. Like GTA, it provides a free environment in which anything is possible. And like Sony’s Eyetoy, it uses a video camera as game controller.”

Videospiel des Medienkünstlers Hunter Jonakin: Der Spieler darf mit einer Panzerfaust bei einer Jeff-Koons-Retrospektive die Kunstwerke zerstören: “Jeff Koons Must Die!!! is made up of a fabricated 80’s style stand-up arcade cabinet, and a simulated digital environment presented in a first-person perspective. Viewers must pay twenty-five cents to play the game and the virtual environment is traversed with a joystick and two arcade buttons. The premise of the video game is to allow the viewer to virtually destroy work by the artist, Jeff Koons.” Via

Iocose: “Surfing with Alexander Brener”

“Surfing with Alexander Brener” – das neue Projekt von Iocose (Vgl. hier) parodiert das “Google Art Project” (und Alexander Brener). Wer Alexander Brener nicht mehr kennt: “He was jailed in 1997 for painting a green dollar sign on Kazimir Malevich’s painting Suprematisme. In the court case Brener said in his defense: “The cross is a symbol of suffering, the dollar sign a symbol of trade and merchandise. On humanitarian grounds are the ideas of Jesus Christ of higher significance than those of the money. What I did was not against the painting. I view my act as a dialogue with Malevich.” (*) – hier gibt es einen historischen Live-Mitschnitt (mit Barbara Schurz) von dem rebel:art-festival (Berlin, 2004).
